Skåbu Fjellmaraton Ultra starts at Bygdin on Valdresflya, where Jotunheimvegen branches off from RV51, about 13 km from Beitostølen. The race follows Jotunheimvegen past idyllic mountain farms along Vinstervatna on gravel roads, with fantastic views of the peaks of Jotunheimen and beautiful mountains. From about 35 km, participants follow the marathon route all the way to the finish, with a tough ending; 3 km up Kamfossbakken to the finish in Skåbu center. This race offers a unique experience with varied terrain and scenic views.
